Albuquerque’s Lillie Kolich Wins Battle Round on The Voice

Albuquerque native Lillie Kolich is moving forward on NBC’s The Voice after winning a Battle Round against teammate Kayleigh Mathews with a duet of “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town.
Competing on Team Queen, the 25-year-old singer impressed coach Queen Latifah, who named Lillie the winner of the battle, advancing her to the next stage of the competition.
Kolich’s journey to The Voice has been shaped by creativity, resilience, and a determination to share her own story through music. After spending her childhood acting in theater, film, and television, she studied performance in college before discovering songwriting during therapy. What began as an exercise became a meaningful way to tell her own stories rather than portray someone else’s.
She eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked multiple jobs while building an independent pop career through songwriting, live performances, and a publishing deal.
Just days before traveling to compete on The Voice, Kolich suffered serious facial injuries in a dog attack and underwent emergency reconstructive surgery. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, she chose not to let fear keep her from pursuing one of the biggest opportunities of her career.
Through her music, Kolich hopes to help listeners feel less alone while inspiring young women to follow their dreams. Her appearance on The Voice represents another step forward in a journey defined by perseverance and a commitment to honest storytelling.
