Their journey started during one of the most difficult periods in recent history. Like many musicians, the members of Elovated Roots found themselves without live performances when the COVID-19 pandemic brought the entertainment industry to a standstill. "COVID," a band member said with a laugh when sharing how the band was formed. "We're all really big fans of live music…when that stopped, we just started playing in the living room. Next thing you know, this whole band was together."

Instead, it grew from an appreciation for music and the sense of creating something together. "It was the respect for the music," the band explained. "When you get into the flow with other people playing, it's a different vibe. You're able to make magic and spread love…from the stage."
While many bands follow trends or focus on commercial success, Elovated Roots has intentionally built its identity around creating an uplifting experience for audiences.
"Our music is centered around that," they said. "That's the vibe that brought us together in the first place. We wanted to make the world a better place through music, positive energy, and cool conversations."
It's a refreshing approach needed in today's environment. Listeners can hear it most clearly in the band's single "Bring the Love." The single has become a key part of every live performance. "We close with it wherever we go," the band shared. "We want people to hear the message of what that song stands for - coming together. We need that right now in this world.”
The band's infectious grooves with meaningful messages have connected with audiences throughout generations. Their concerts are celebrations of community and positivity.
That doesn't mean the band takes itself too seriously.
Their latest single, "Dankrupt," shows another side of Elovated Roots' personality. The humorous track was inspired by a phrase casually spoken by one of the band members.
"One of the members said it one night," they laughed. "I went home and wrote the song." The title refers to the all-too-relatable experience of being completely out of money and cannabis. "It's kind of like being out of money and not having any cannabis."
After a moment of laughter, they added with a grin, "Many can relate."
The song reflects the band's openness to humor without sacrificing the authenticity that defines their music, tackling serious themes while finding comedy in everyday life.
