NME After Print - Popejoy Hall's 2018-2019 Season Preview

New Mexico Entertainment Magazine had the opportunity to preview the upcoming 2018-2019 season of Popejoy Presents at Popejoy Hall. Hosted by New Mexico Living's and Legendary New Mexico 's Chad Brummett, the presentation gave theater fans the chance to check out what Popejoy has to offer and performances from the some of the performers from the shows. The first presentation was for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Elene Ricardo sang two songs from the show, "I Feel the Earth Move" and "Beautiful" before sharing with the audience the beauty of the musical and the excitement of learning how involved Carole King was in writing some of the most timely and popular songs known to man. There were also performances from Maria Failla, who sang, "Climb Every Mountain" from the Sound of Music, Ceila Hottenstein who performed "All That Matters" from the musical Finding Neverland - where "Pop meets Old English", and Jessica Hendy with a powerful performance of "Memory" from Cats which back on tour with a fresh, new, contemporary feel choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler who also choreographed Hamilton.

The staff of Popejoy also took a moment to share their excitement for the upcoming season. Director of Popejoy, Tom Tkach opened the presentation and talked about how Popejoy continues the tradition of bringing quality shows to the Southwest and is proud to be associated with a wonderful theater. Terry S. Davis, Marketing Manager, talked about the excitement of Rent making a return to the Popejoy stage and discussed The Ovation Series. We also got a treat from Matthew Miller of Popejoy Group Sales when he worked the runway in the boots made famous by the movie and musical Kinky Boots, also on the list of shows coming this season.
