November 2017 - Make 'Em Laugh: Rod Man

It’s been 3 years since we last interview Rod Man after taking home the win on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. When we found out that he was making a trip back to New Mexico, we thought it was about time to follow-up and see what he’s been up to.

Great to see you back in New Mexico. How has life been since we last spoke with you after winning Last Comic Standing?

Life is “fair to middling slightly above average, the check engine light is finally off in my car, cause I hate when that light comes on it could be anything.

We are living in an interesting time right now politically. Has any of that entered your sets?

It enters my set, and I usher it out pretty quickly. I think we’re going to need more than a 100 days.

Television was always the goal. Is it being fulfilled?

Television is one of the goal, is it being fulfilled… not yet.

Do you feel comedy is going a different direction?

Comedy goes into the funny direction.

While being an inspiration for many young comics, have you seen some good prospects in the field?

I have a couple of new guys that open up for me Corey Marshall & Marc Henderson, good writers and comedians.

What are some of your upcoming projects?

Upcoming Projects ThatGoodFunny presents The Dramedy Tour 2018 coming to cities and towns across the US and sweet Canada... in my Borat voice “very nice people in Canada.”

Rod Man is headlining at The Stage at The Santa Ana Star Casino on November 3rd. Get your tickets at http://www.thestageatthestar.com/event/rod-man/
